Re. the appendix, I don’t think they’re referring to artifacts when they say “unique.” They just mean frame some of the book’s magical items as unique and not part of some Wal Mart product line. The idea of a magical battle standard is pretty cool, but, c’mon, how many types of magical battle standards does your story need? Pick one from the list, give it a cool name and a cool history, then forget the list.
