Abou the Feywild not really fitting in the wheel of worlds, I’d suggest stealing from David Farland’s Runelords novel series: the Feywild is the One True World, from where every other world (Elemental Chaos, Astral Domains, Shadowfell or the many, many “prime” Material Worlds) spawned.
In the time before time, there was only one world (or plane)—the Feywild, the One True World. Then the Dawn War hacked it to pieces, creating the whole D&D universe. The present Feywild is a mere shadow of the One True World, an echo of its impossible exuberance.
How about it?
